K.V.CLRI, Choosen by NGO-Murugappa Chettiar Research Centre to execute the Eco friendly project of Recycling waste paper, Plant culture and vermicomposting-Coordinated by Mrs.H.R.shyamala.
Ms. Samrudhi Sunil,Ms Dhulika of Class XI, and Ms.Shruthi Pillai(Class X) bagged the Second prize-Certificates, SONY-MP4 player and 4 saplings, participating under the guidance of Ms. Nimmy S. Master B.Chaitanya Raj of std-XII Science stream (Biology) has received KVPY scholarship in molecular Biology - April 2010. .
LANKA SAI TEJASWI(Class XII Biotechnology,guided by PGT Bio-Tech Ms. Nimmy S.Babu) has bagged YOUNG GENIUS AWARD 2010 awarded by BIO ASIA for her project "Microbial Worid in Cellphones". The award includes a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.Congratulations!!!

This Vidyalaya was visioned by the eminent scientist Dr. Nayudamma and the Commissioner, KVS Sri. R.P. Chauhan as an offshoot of KVIIT. It became a separate entity in July 1974. Since then it has crossed many milestones and touched the pinnacles of success.
This Vidyalaya has been adjudged the best performer amongst the Kendriya Vidyalayas in Chennai Region. Our Vidyalaya ceaselessly makes the efforts to maintain the zeal and stamp of CLRI to keep up the fervour of the founding fathers Dr. Nayudamma and other eminent scientists who have helped it grow to its present stature.The progress of this Vidyalaya owes every inch of its success to the kind and radiant fervour showered on us by the CLRI authorities. The fostering effects of the CLRI personnel has metamorphosed the Vidyalaya into a blossoming tree with budding talents of the students who excel their counterparts in every branch of competition.
Under the able guidance of Mr. Satyanarayana, the founder Principal, the first batch appeared for Higher Secondary School (3 year course) in 1977 and produced commendable results. Mr. Govind R. Rao was an awarded student of this batch who joined the cream of IIT and also came out with flying colours in the incredible NDA. He was also chosen the best product of the esteemed institution IIT. We are proud to mention that our first batch trendsetter Mr. Govind R.Rao was awarded the coveted Presidential Youth Investigatory Award, while he was working as a professor in U.S. With this well made beginning, the Vidyalaya has grown from strength to strength. The Vidyalaya was under the stewardship of Late Sri M.R. Subramanian for a brief spell of one year.
From a humble beginning under the able handed Principals like Smt. Visharadha Hoon, Smt. K. Vijayalakshmi, Sri. T.G. Chowdary, Sri. B.A. Rangasri and Smt. S.Sitalakshmi, we have gained pearls of experiences to go ahead to an expressive future. Now under the illustrious leadership of Mr. R. Radhakrishnan the Vidyalaya has bloomed in its full glory and has become the much sought centre for education in this ambitious city.
In this temple of learning, which is a second home to about 1500 students, the dedicated teachers strive to inculcate eternal values besides moulding creative minds, realizing the responsibility of contributing committed citizens to the nation.
